Iran’s ‘Women who Run with the Wolves’ to compete in India

Iranian film ‘Women who Run with the Wolves’ is to compete at 2019 KIFF in India.

Iranian movie ‘Women who Run with the Wolves’ has been selected to compete at the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) in India.

Directed by Amir Athar Soheili, the film will compete with 14 other films from 14 countries.

“Thousands of years ago, Yunus (Jonah) became doubtful and slipped. The instant his story was about to reach its pinnacle, the fish’s gut begins Jonah’s story. Now, a thousand years later, Zhaleh becomes doubtful and slips and when her story is about to finish at its highest”, a short synopsis of the film reads.

Among the film crew include screenwriter Amir Athar Soheili, Cinemogragapher Ali Azimizadeh and assistant director Hesam Samerizadeh.

KIFF is one of the oldest and most valid festivals in India. The fest aims at creating an opportunity for a better understanding of international films and to promote motion picture art and industry.

The fest is slated for November 8-15, 2019.
